ADE 101 – Introduction to Adult Education and Non-Formal Education: The concept of Adult education. The problem of definition formal and non- formal aspects of Adult education. Adult education and National development. Discussion of interrelated concepts on the subjects. [2 units]

 

ADE 111 – Adult Learning and Group Behaviour: The concept of learning.  Characteristics of learning. Some myths of adult learning. Development of learning objectives. Understanding the individual and group behaviour . Approaches to special learning.  The concept of group dynamics. Application of group dynamics to leadership training. [2 units]

 

ADE 121 – Adult Education and Community Development: Challenges of poverty to education and community development in Nigeria. The concepts of self-relevance and basic needs approach, etc. relating and adapting the concept to Nigerian situation. [2 units]

 

ADE 122 – Introduction to Community Development: Concept of Community Development. Meaning of community as distinct from group or society. Characteristics and assumptions of community Development programmes and their component projects; Urban Community Development. Economics and Social problems of urban life. Poverty in Nigeria and how to eliminate poverty in our society. [2 units]
