Social Science Education – Admission Requirements

University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Admission Requirements

Candidates who have satisfied the minimum University requirements of five 0’level credit passes including English and Mathematics and other relevant subjects to be combined with Education, with the exception of social studies which should require credit  in any social science or Arts subject.

Only candidates who wish to offer Education Economics are expected to have credit in Mathematics while those who wish to combine Education with Political science, Social studies, and Geography need only pass in Mathematics.

 

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Candidates may be admitted into the three-year degree programme if they possess minimum University entry requirements plus any of the following:

  • Two “A” level passes in relevant subjects which should include candidates proposed course.
  • NCE distinction credit/merit passes in addition to TC II or O’level credited in relevant subjects.
  • Diploma in Public Administration, Social Work and Environmental/Geographic Education.
