University Matriculation Examination (U.M.E) Admission
Candidates possessing any of the following qualifications may be admitted into  the four (4) Year Degree Programme:
i) Candidates seeking entry into the four year degree programme in the six professional courses must satisfy the minimum university requirements.
ii) Candidates seeking entry into any of the six (6) Adult Education subject combinations must meet the University requirements in addition to the Departmental requirements into which they are seeking admission.
iii) Candidates must possess credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSCE) or GCE, including English and a credit in Mathematics at not more than 2 sittings.  In addition, an acceptable pass in University Matriculation Examination (UME) qualifications for admission into the University four (4) year degree programme in Adult Education is required.
 
Direct Entry (DE) Admission
Candidates possessing any of the following qualifications may be admitted by Direct Entry into the Three (3) Year Degree Programme.
1. Candidates who hold either Diploma in Adult Education, Social Work, Religion, Health and Physical Education, NCE with at least merit or any other Diploma recognized by the University of Nigeria Senate, are eligible for admission.
2. (a) Two (2) credit passes in relevant subject areas at advanced level with SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level credit passes in three other subjects at not more than two sitting or
(b) Two (2) passes in relevant subject areas at advanced level with SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level in three other subjects at not more than two sittings.
3. (a) Passes in two (2) major subjects in relevant areas in NCE with
SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level credit or its equivalent in five (5) other subjects in not more than two sittings.
(b) Education is acceptable as a third “A” level subject for those taking courses in education.
(c) Two passes in 3(b) above with a school certificate credit or its equivalent in other subjects.  The above qualification in (3a) should apply to students in Colleges of Education to qualify for admission into the B.Ed degree programmes.
