Students admitted by entrance examination must meet University minimum entry requirements of at least five credits, including credits in English and a Science subject, in not more than two sittings, in the West African School Certificate or its equivalent.

Direct entry candidates must hold one of the following qualifications:

• Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) with at least merit in Library and Information Science;

• Diploma in Library and Information Science with at least merit;

Higher School Certificate/G.C.E. Advanced Level in at least two subjects.
